Ashok Leyland Launches Boss BS-VI In Over 200 Variants

To strengthen its market position in the Intermediate Commercial Vehicle (ICV) segment, Ashok Leyland has launched the Boss LE and LX Trucks, with i-Gen6 complying to BS-VI norms.
These two vehicles will address the 11.1 tonn to 14.05 tonn GVW market, with starting price of INR 18 Lakhs, ex-showroom Mumbai / Delhi / Chennai.

Interestingly the customers can choose from over 200 different combinations – loading span from 14ft to 24 ft and body type options of high side deck, fixed side deck, drop side deck, cab chassis, container and tipper.

To be manufactured in Ennore and Pantnagar facilities, Boss will be available as a fully-built option with class-leading ergonomic and safety features for the driver. It comes bundled with digital solutions like i-Alert, remote diagnostics.

The Boss platform offers multiple applications including usage for parcel and courier, poultry, white goods, agri-perishable, e-commerce, FMCG, auto parts and reefer, among others. Customers can choose from two cabin options. They can also expect multiple improvements over BS-IV technology like up to seven percent higher fluid efficiency, up to five percent better tyre life, up to 30 percent longer service interval and up to five percent lower maintenance cost. 

Anuj Kathuria, COO, Ashok Leyland, said, the company has achieved these benefits during its extensive tests. “These are quite achievable,” he said, adding that the company has a panel of drivers who could help customers establish their savings. The cumulative savings on account of these improvements will be around INR 2.5 lakh over four years, he said.

The new vehicles come with four years / four lakh Km warranty which can be extended up to six years. It also comes with four hours response and 48 hours restoration promise. As these vehicles demand high uptime requirement, they will be supported with ‘Quick accident repair’ and have an exclusive bay at workshops. Customers have 3000+ touchpoints for ease of access to sales and aftersales support, all supported by 24x7 customer assistance Uptime Solution Centre and Service Mandi network.
