Bajaj Auto’s May Sales Surge 114%

Bajaj Auto’s total sales surged 114 percent to 271,862 units in May 2021 compared with 127,128 units sold in May 2020.

The two-wheeler manufacturer managed to sell a total of 60,342 two-wheelers in May 2021, a 54 percent increase over May 2020 figure where the manufacturer managed to sell 39,286 units. Domestic sale of commercial vehicles witnessed 38 percent decline in May 2021 as the manufacturer only managed to sell 488 units compared with 788 units in May 2020.

Bajaj observed a massive 142 percent rise in export numbers from 87,054 in May 2020 to 211,032 in May 2021. While two-wheeler exports grew by 145 percent during this time to 180,212 units, commercial vehicle exports surged by 128 percent to 30,820 units in May 2021.

Year to date, Bajaj has managed to sell a total of 588,727 units of two-wheelers and 71,151 units of commercial vehicles. Exports constitute more than 70 percent of the company’s sale during this time, with total exports standing at 464,577 units while the total domestic sale stands at 195,301 units. (MT)
