Bridgestone And Webfleet Sponsor MOVE 2021, Showcase E-Mobility Solutions

Bridgestone EMIA, along with its Software as a Service (SaaS) fleet management software solutions provider subsidiary Webfleet Solutions, has sponsored MOVE 2021, a coveted mobility showcase event.

The move, according to the companies, is in line with their goal of providing fleet operators with fuel-saving and cost-cutting solutions while also accelerating electric powertrain adoption in fleet services. Webfleet believes that 61 percent of commercial vehicles in Europe may be replaced with electric vehicles after analysing aggregated driving data from 100,000 connected commercial vehicles on its platform over a 12-month period. The company further predicts that if the EV adoption takes place, total petrol consumption will drop by more than 42 percent and diesel consumption will drop by slightly over 30 percent. This reduction in fuel consumption could result in a 31 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.

Webfleet has launched a Fleet Electrification Planning Report tool to help operators monitor and optimise driving behaviour and general fleet operations. With this tool, fleet operators can get access to information like the vehicle's battery level, driving state, range, charging times and the charging location. The company claims the tool can aid fleet services with better trip planning based on the suitability of individual vehicle circumstances.

Jan-Maarten de Vries, CEO, Bridgestone Mobility Solutions, said, “Webfleet Solutions is not only committed to helping our customers get the most value from their EVs, but also to help them identify the best opportunities to make the switch. We’re continuously developing new EV features for webfleet in order to smooth the path to an electrified future for our fleet customers. We’re a proud contributor to Bridgestone’s sustainability ambitions and fully integrated approach to make electric mobility more efficient and accessible to drivers and fleets.” (TT)
