Continental Launches Tree Plantation Drive For 150th Anniversary

Continental has launched a 150,000-tree plantation drive to commemorate its 150th anniversary. The tree plantation drive will spread over the locations of Bengaluru, Pune, Gurugram, Kolkata, Sonepat, and Modipuram.

The event which was inaugurated on 8th October 2021 by veteran environmentalist and Padmashri recipient, Saalumarada Thimmakka, is powered by multiple NGOs and local government departments.  The project aims to improve the biodiversity, afforestation in reclaimed forest land and greening of suburban areas.

Prashanth Doreswamy, Country Head– Continental India said, “We are delighted to celebrate 150 years of Continental through a sustainable eco-friendly program. Nature-based solutions such as this are one of the means by which we can fight climate change and build resilient landscapes for future generations.”

The plantation drive is also one among the six global aid projects to receive the special fund from the company’s 150th-anniversary special fund-raising campaign. (TT)
