Continental To Supply Tyres For Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance

Mercedes has selected Continental's 20-inch SportContact 6 as OE tyres for its AMG GT 63 S E Performance.

The XL load rated SportContact 6 features unique sidewall marking (MO1B) to indicate the tyre was specifically designed for this vehicle. The tyre has received an excellent rating at tyre tests conducted by German car magazines Auto Bild (235/35 R 19), Auto Bild sportscars (265/35ZR20) and sport auto (255/35 ZR19 / 275/35 ZR19).

Manufactured in Korbach, Germany, the SportContact 6 features innovative force vectoring technology for excellent steering precision. In addition, the tyre also employs the Black Chili compound, which ensures the best possible contact between the tyre and the road surface to aid braking and acceleration in low and high temperatures.

Dr Holger Lange, Head of Tyre Development – OE Business, Continental, said, "In order to bring the exceptional performance of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance safely to the road at all times, the tyres must be the perfect match for the vehicle as the only connection to the asphalt. In order to precisely record and optimally implement the specific requirements for each vehicle model, we work closely with our customers right from the vehicle development phase. In this way, we ensure that our tyres precisely meet our customers' technical specifications and thus make an important contribution to driving performance." (TT)
