Michelin Launches X Multi Grip Truck Tyres For Extreme Winter Conditions

Michelin has released its X Multi Grip tyres for trucks to perform in extreme winter conditions.

The tyres deliver 50 percent more traction and 20 percent more braking performance on snow with 5 mm tread left and 20 percent more lateral grip with of 2 mm of tread left when compared to its predecessor. The tyre also provides 10 percent more mileage for steer tyres and 30 percent more mileage for drive tyres.

The company also says retreading the tyres increases longevity and reduces cost per kilometre. The rolling resistance has reduced by 10 percent. It says a tractor trailer equipped with 385/65R22.5 Michelin X Multi Grip Z and 315/80R22.5 Michelin X Multi Grip reduced fuel consumption by 0.6 litres/100 km and saves around EUR 574 a year. It also reduces 1.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year on average. (TT)
