History has repeated itself for the eighth time in the case of Sundram Fasteners, and albeit in a slightly different context. The company, which reported its highest-ever profit after tax (PAT) of INR.130.02 crore for the fourth quarter of FY2020-21, has won the ‘Supplier of the Year’ title by General Motors (GM) through the latter’s 29th Annual Supplier of the Year awards in June 2021. Sundram Fasteners is one of the 122 suppliers from 16 countries that General Motors has bestowed with the title. The title, given for supplier performance in the calendar year 2020, concerns the supply of key products like transmission shafts and radiator caps among others. These are supplied to GM brands like Cadillac, GMC and Chevrolet. A GM supplier for the last 25 years, Sundram Fasteners is one of the few suppliers that have distinguished themselves by not only exceeding GM’s requirements but also provide innovative technologies and high-quality parts. Chosen by a global team of GM purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing and logistics executives, the company was selected on parameters like product purchasing, global purchasing and manufacturing services, customer care and aftersales and logistics. Expressed Arathi Krishna, Managing Director, Sundram Fasteners Limited, that the recognition is a validation of our commitment to quality, innovation, sustainability, and excellence. “We have received this award for the eighth time, demonstrating our ability to exceed customer expectations,” she added.
