TVS Motor Company Wins Award For Sustainability At India Green Energy Award 2020
TVS Motor Company has been awarded the ‘Outstanding Renewable Energy User’ award at the third edition of the India Green Energy Award 2020 by the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE).
The award was presented by Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India and Bhagwanth Khuba, Minister of State, New and Renewable Energy, Chemicals and Fertilizers.
The India Green Energy Award recognises the efforts of companies towards establishing a sustainable energy ecosystem. TVS was selected from among 46 participants across sectors by a jury consisting of top-level domain experts for its sustainable efforts to increase the usage of alternative power sources in renewable energy.
TVS has always been at the forefront of energy conservation initiatives with holistic green initiatives across its manufacturing units, such as zero discharge plants, water recycling, design for recyclability, rainwater harvesting and biodiversity conservation in and around its factories in India. The company has also reduced 58,812 tonnes of CO2 emissions during 2020-2021. (MT)
