TVS Names Venkat Viswanathan as Technical Advisor

TVS Motor Company has appointed Professor Venkat Viswanathan as the two-wheeler manufacturer’s Technical Advisor for Electric Mobility. 

Viswanathan, who is an associate professor of mechanical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, has a PhD from Stanford University and has done postdoctoral studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has also served as a technical advisor and scientific advisory board member at QuantumScape, a company developing solid-state lithium-metal batteries for use in electric vehicles. He has also worked as a Chief Scientist at Aionics, a company that develops machine-learning methods for battery material innovation. 

TVS Motor believes Viswanathan's expertise in energy storage and Li-ion batteries will aid the company's own battery technology capabilities. The company is working on its portfolio of two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the range of 5 kW to 25 kW of power.
