Vipal’s first away plant starts production in Argentina

Vipal Rubber, leading manufacturers of tyre retreading products, started production at its plant in Argentina. Located at Perez province of Santa Fe, the plant had an investment of approximately $20 million dollars. Vipal's first plant outside Brazil, the Perez unit is producing precured treads for tyre retreads, which supply the Argentine and export markets.

The company said in a statement that the plant has a total space of 15,000 sq. meters and a built area of 7,600 square meters. It has an installed capacity of 1000 tonnes of rubber mixture per month, being 600 tonnes/month destined to the production of procured treads. The Argentine plant also has a distribution centre, with one thousand tons of storage capacity.

According to its International Business Director, Leandro Rigon, ”the main objective of the factory in Argentina is to improve our capacity to serve the local market, with more efficient logistics, in addition to using the new platform for exports to neighbouring markets with greater synergy. After 25 years working in the Argentine market, today we have come to bring a novelty that will further strengthen our commitment to the country, something that fills us with pride and joy: Vipal now produces precured treads in Argentina.”
