XUV700 Shatters National Endurance Record

Mahindra XUV700 scripted history by clocking over 4,000 km in 24 hours to create a new National Record at the 24 hours Speed Endurance Challenge.

Held at Mahindra’s SUV Proving Track (MSPT) near Chennai, four XUV700 clocked over 4,000 km each to prove the SUVs durability in extreme conditions. The diesel manual variant led the pack with 4,384.73 km, followed by the diesel automatic clocking 4,256.12 km, petrol manual doing 4,232.01 km and petrol automatic squeezing out 4,155.65 km. All vehicles managed to average speeds of 170-180 km/h during the test.

In addition to the national record, the XUV700 crushed a total of 80 additional records during the 24 hours.

Velusamy R, Chief of Global Product Development, M&M, said, “The XUV700 was conceptualised, developed and built to a very high endurance standard and as expected, it fared extremely well in this gruelling challenge. We are proud that the XUV700 has set new benchmarks for endurance and set new national records. It is interesting to note that this achievement came at our very own world-class MSPT.” (MT)

Note: The test was conducted under the observation of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India and all records have been validated by the India Book of Records
